We are pleased to announce that Dr. Drew Grumbles will join Drs. Kyle Claunch, Drew Sparks, and Daniel Scheiderer as an official member of Baptist Dogmatics. Dr. Grumbles is a pastor at Albany Baptist Church, a confessional congregation in Albany, NY. His PhD work was in the Old Testament at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his dissertation has been published.
The series he published for us confronting the Heiserite doctrine demonstrated to us and anyone watching his commitment to rigorous exegesis in conversation with theology and the history of interpretation. While so many today are beholden to modernistic methods and dismissive of the interpretations offered in the past, Dr. Grumbles demonstrated comfort with treating pre-critical exegetes as worthy voices in the task of interpreting the Sacred Text. We look forward to his contributions going forward, both in his writing and behind the scenes as we discuss other work. We pray his voice would be one with ours as a clarion call to Christians to hold fast to the trustworthy Word as taught, and that, together, we will remain faithful to faith once for all delivered to the saints.
